The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Commission for Europe will hold its annual conference in Zagreb on May 28-29, including a workshop on growth, innovation and partnership, the Tourism Ministry has said. The event will also be attended by UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili, who is expected to meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic.

"Meetings of regional UNWTO commissions, such as the Commission for Europe, are held once a year in various part of the world, and the Zagreb meeting is especially important for Croatia, which currently chairs the UNWTO Commission for Europe. It will provide an opportunity for the country to present itself as a member of the UNWTO and continue consolidating its position on the global tourism market as a destination that sets trends in tourism management and development," Minister Gari Cappelli said.

The Zagreb conference will be attended by representatives from 37 countries. (Hina)
