Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin said on Monday during his tour of development projects in the northern Adriatic town of Porec that the planned investments in Croatia's tourism sector this year were estimated at EUR 410 million, of which EUR 130 million refers to investments in Istria County.

Last year a total of EUR 230 million was invested in Croatia's tourism sector, while tourism investments in Istria totaled EUR 90 million. The minister said that announcements for this year were encouraging, notably when it comes to greenfield investments.

While touring the construction site of the future water park "Aquacolors Porec", the project of the Croatian-Czech company Asket worth EUR 25 million, the minister said that this project and another similar project in northern Istria were exactly what his ministry was looking for and it was in line with Croatia's development strategy.
