The Maistra Hospitality Group has been the only hospitality company to have its three hotels opened during the COVID-19 lockdown in Croatia, and it is going to reopen its remaining facilities, primarily campsites in Rovinj and Vrsar, as soon as the borders are open.

Maistra recalled in a press release on Thursday, that currently the Westin in Zagreb, the Hotel Adriatic in Rovinj and the Hilton in Dubrovnik were available for accommodation of local and foreign visitors.

The European Commission on Wednesday issued a recommendation to gradually lift travel restrictions between EU countries or areas with similar epidemiological situations in an effort to salvage what can be salvaged of this year's tourism season.

"Free movement and cross-border travel are key to tourism," the EC said in a press release.

This promoted Maistra, which is a segment of the Adris Group and operates 20 hotels, 11 tourist resorts and six campsites, to announce the reopening of its accommodation facilities for tourists.

In 2019, Maistra registered 3.6 million overnight stays of guests, however, it does not want to make forecasts for this year.
