Croatia's H1 revenues from foreign tourists up 5%

Revenues from foreign tourists reached €2.72 billion in the first half of 2019, which was an increase of €127 million or 5% on the same period in 2018, the Tourism Ministry said on Monday, citing Croatian National Bank (HNB) data.

Revenues from foreign tourists also grew in the second quarter of the year when €2.33 billion was generated, which was an increase of €110 million or 5% on the same period last year.

"The results achieved in the first half of this year confirm the progress the Croatian tourist industry has made in promoting Croatia as a year-round destination. In the last five years tourist turnover in the first half of the year has increased by 62% and revenues by 51%," Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli said.

He noted that a great boost to growth and development of year-round tourism also came from continental tourism, recalling that Croatian Tourism Days were taking place in five eastern counties this week.
