Croatia could become more recognisable for its high-quality conference tourism, which can also help solve the problem of seasonality, the biggest issue in Croatia's tourism, stated Jasmina Bilac, the president of the newly established Association for Business Tourism at the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK).

The new association promoting business tourism industry was established precisely because of the seasonality in Croatia's tourism, and Bilac, the owner of the travel agency ProConventa was chosen president.

Bilac invited members to become as active as possible in meeting their needs, as well as in educating experts in order to raise standards in the profession to an even higher level.

"Promotion and training are our priorities, and cooperation with other institutions, such as the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ), will be emphasised," she noted.

The HGK emphasised that the Assistant Minister of Tourism Robert Pende pointed out at the constitutional meeting of the association that business convention tourism is one of potentially important Croatian tourism products according to the Tourism Development Strategy until 2020. (Hina/FaH)
