Tourism ministry presents catalogue of investment projects

The Tourism Ministry has made public on its web site a catalogue of investment projects with information for potential investors on more than 30 companies, facilities and locations which are priority public tourism projects seeking investors. The 110-page catalogue is divided in three parts and the first contains information on state-owned companies awaiting privatization to be carried out by the Agency for State Property Management. There are 14 such companies and the state holds interests of more than 25 percent in their capital stock. Some of those companies are the Bizovacke Toplice spa, the health and recreational centre Lipik, the hotel companies Podgora, Zivogosce, Medena, Maestral, Imperial and others.

Tourism Minister comments on Brijuni Rivijera project

Croatian Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic said on Thursday there were still many outstanding issues about the Brijuni Rivijera tourism project which needed to be resolved, adding that known investors would come to Croatia only once bureaucratic obstacles were removed. Clearly some obstacles still exist and what Prefect Ivan Jakovcic said yesterday shows that there are still many bureaucratic obstacles to the realisation of investments, in this case the Brijuni Rivijera project, the minister told reporters ahead of the government session. Ostojic stressed this case should be "a trigger" for everyone to sit down and talk about how to resolve bureaucratic obstacles and encourage investments.

Croatia's food and wines presented on American TV channel CNBC

The popular American TV channel CNBC has presented Croatia's food and wines in its specialised show "Wine Portfolio", describing Croatia as a destination for true lovers of traditional specialties and fine wines. The Croatian Tourism Board (HTZ) Main Office said on Friday that the show, broadcast in late March, was made last year during a CNBC study tour of Croatia, organised by the HTZ Main Office and the HTZ Office in New York. The show's host, Jody Ness, and his team visited Zagreb, Opatija, Kastav, Volosko, Motovun, Livade, Momjan, Vizinada, Porec, Pula, Plitvice, Sibenik, Skradin and Split, interviewing a number of wine-makers and chefs.
