Recognition of foreign professional qualifications in the field of tourism

The Minister of Tourism pursuant to Article 70. Paragraph 5. of the Act on Provision of Tourism Services (Official Gazette No. 130/17, 25/19, 98/19, 42/20) and in conjunction with Article 16, Paragraph 3 of the Act on Regulated Professions and Recognition of Foreign Professional Qualifications (Official Gazette 82/15, 70/19, 47/20), passed the Ordinance on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications of the Tourist Guide and Travel Agency Office Manager (Official Gazette 58/19, 28/20) which provides the recognition of foreign professional qualifications in order to achieve the establishment and provision of a tourist guide and travel agency office manager on a temporary and occasional basis.
The temporary and occasional provision of services
In order to provide these services, interested candidates are required to submit a written statement, on an application form or in another appropriate manner.
Alongside the application form, prior to the first provision of services, candidates shall append the following documents:
- EU certificate, i.e. certificate testifying to the candidate being established in the member state of his establishment for the purpose of pursuing the profession for which he is applying, and that at the moment of applying he is not prohibited from practising, even temporarily, the profession for which he has applied,
- proof of nationality,
- evidence of formal qualifications,
- proof that he has pursued the profession for which he is applying for at least one year during the previous ten years if the profession concerned, professional education and training for the profession in question are not regulated in the member state of establishment
This documents shall be submitted in original or copy accompanied by a certified Croatian translation, with the exception of evidence of nationality which shall be submitted in ordinary copy and accompanied by an uncertified translation.
AN ANNUAL RENEWAL OF THE DECLARATION
In the case of any subsequent submission of application for the provision of services on a temporary or occasional basis in the Republic of Croatia, the candidate shall supplement the application with a statement on the frequency and the number of days he provided services in the Republic of Croatia in the previous year according to application form.
