The "Wheat Path Kupa-Sava", financed by the Croatian-Bosnian IPA cross border programme was presented in the central Croatian town of Karlovac on Tuesday with an aim to promote the Kupa-Sava rivers region as a unique tourist destination.

The project, worth over EUR 660,000, is also aimed at building a 26-metre wheat boat, but not for the transportation of cargo, but to transport tourists. The boat, which will be able to take approximately 50 tourists on board should be launched in July 2014.

Partners on the project are the town of Karlovac, Pokupsko Municipality, the "Zvono uz Kupu" association, and several local boards of tourism and development agencies from Croatia's side as well as RARS and Tors from Banja Luka and the "Zelene Staze" association from Sarajevo.
