Vojvodina wants to attract more tourists from Istria and Croatia overall

The fourth edition of Vojvodina in Istria Days - a three day event - started on Thursday in Pula at which 10 towns from Vojvodina will present their tourist trade. "It is our intention to reduce the virtual distance between Novi Sad and Pula, Palic and Motovun, Ucka and Fruska Gora - between the one-time Panonian Sea and the Adriatic," the director of the Vojvodina Tourism Board, Natasa Pavlovic told a press conference.

Pavlovic explained that over the past few years the number of tourists visiting Vojvodina was on the rise and that guests from Croatia had contributed considerably to this trend, recording a 10% increase.

She believes that with its rich and diverse tourism opportunities Vojvodina can attract significantly more guests from Istria and Croatia overall.

She added that Istria and Vojvodina had a lot more in common that mutually attracted them.

The Vojvodina in Istria Days is an opportunity for business meetings and an opportunity to taste local delicacies and wines.

The host and organiser of the event in Pula is the Vojvodina Tourism Board in cooperation with Vojvodina authorities.

The event is an occasion to point out the advantages of the "Virtual and Cultural Tourism- ViCTour" project jointly organised by Serbia and Croatia as part of a cross-border Interreg IPA programme aimed at developing attractive, dynamic and competitive tourist trade by using IT tools such as holograms, virtual and augmented reality, interactive totems and such to enhance cross-border tourism and ensure better management of cultural and natural heritage of the region.
