Visa regime obstacle to increase in Chinese tourists' arrival in Croatia

Although the number of Chinese tourists in Europe could quadruple by 2020, the number of Chinese visiting Croatia might not go up given Croatia's visa regime, the president of the Group of national travel agents' and tour operators' associations within the EU (ESTAA) and the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA), Boris Zgomba, said at the international conference of tour operators held recently in Beijing.

The conference, organised by the World Travel Market from London, brought together several hundred tourism professionals and officials from the entire world. Addressing the event, Zgomba said that in 2011, as many 11 million Chinese were issued with the Schengen visa. (Hina)
