​Two more restaurants in Croatia get Michelin star

Restaurants Boskinac in Novalja and LD Terrace in Korcula are the new winners of one Michelin star each and current holders have retained their stars - Pelegrini (Sibenik), 360° (Dubrovnik), Monte (Rovinj), Noel (Zagreb), and Draga di Lovrana (Lovran), the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) reported earlier this week.

That means that this year seven restaurants in Croatia have a Michelin star, the ranking awarded by one of the best known guides and judges of restaurant quality and innovation in the world.
 
Michelin published their list of Croatian restaurants which earned recognition on its website. The list is a result of professional Michelin inspectors' secret tour of Croatian restaurants.
 
Apart from new stars, Michelin included two more Croatian restaurants on their special list "Bib Gourmand", which consists of restaurants with high-quality menus and affordable prices - Konoba Skoj (Solta) and Zlatne Gorice (Varazdin Breg) - which have joined last year's additions Batelina (Banjole), Konoba Vinko (Konjevrat), Agava, and TAC (Zagreb).
 
At this moment, there are 70 restaurants with Michelin ratings in Croatia, the HTZ pointed out.
 
The Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli said that the new Michelin awards are proof that Croatia's food scene is rapidly developing.
 
"It is also a great reward to all the people who continually work on improving the quality of food preparation, presentation, as well as on creating the whole gastronomic experience. Croatia is constantly working on creating the image of a distinguished gastronomy destination with an exceptional diversity in regional gastronomic identities," the minister emphasised.
 
Minister Cappelli also shared data from a Food Travel Monitor survey which shows that 93% of tourists took part in "a special experience connected to food or drink" during their holiday travels, which means that food is a content almost all tourists are interested in today.
 
"That is the reason we will pay special attention in the new strategic period to enogastronomy, to connecting producers and restaurant owners, and to a stronger promotion and additional positioning of Croatia as the new gastronomy icon of Europe," Cappelli said. (Hina)
