The eruption of Grimsvotn volcano in Iceland has not had negative consequences on Croatian travel agencies so far and the situation in Croatia is quite stable also in terms of announced foreign arrivals as well as Croatian citizens' departures abroad, the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies said on Wednesday.

The association said its agencies had taken steps so as to provide passengers with alternative transport to their destinations in case their flights were cancelled, adding that it was in contact with all partners at home and abroad.

The explosion of the Grimsvotn volcano last Saturday caused much less chaos than an eruption last year at another Icelandic volcano thanks to new rules for airlines, but the incident showed problems remain with the regulations, the Reuters news agency reported. (Hina)
