Tourists generate 10% more nights in H1

In the first half of 2018, 6.4 million tourists visited Croatia, generating 25.4 million nights, up 10% and 12% respectively on the year, the National Tourist Board said on Wednesday, adding that in June alone, arrivals went up 4% on the year, while nights were the same. Foreigners accounted for 5.5 million arrivals (+12%) and 22.2 million nights (+10%). Germans, Austrians, Slovenians, Britons and Poles generated the most nights. Domestic tourists accounted for 10% more arrivals and 11% more nights than in the first half of 2017.

Of the coastal counties, Istria registered the most nights (7.4 million), followed by Split-Dalmatia (4.5 million) and Primorje-Gorski Kotar (4.3 million).

Continental Croatia, without Zagreb, registered 452,000 arrivals (+12%) and 905,000 nights (+13%).
