Tourist arrivals, nights in January-July up y-o-y

Tourist arrivals along the Croatian coast and in Zagreb in July were up 1.1 per cent on the year, there was also a 1.1% increase in bed nights, while in the first seven months of 2013, arrivals went up 3% and nights 2.5% year-on-year, the National Tourist Board (HTZ) said on Thursday.

There were three million arrivals and 21.3 million bed nights recorded in July as well as 6.6 million arrivals and 36.5 million nights recorded in the first seven months of the year.

Foreign tourists accounted for 2.8 million arrivals in July, up 1.7% from July 2012, generating 19.3 million guest nights, up nearly 2.5% year-on-year.

Domestic tourists accounted for 240,000 arrivals in July, down 5.7% on the year, generating 1.9 million nights, a drop of 10.2%.

In the first seven months of 2013, foreign tourists accounted for nearly six million arrivals, up 4% from the first seven months of 2012, and 33 million guest nights, up 3.3% on the year.

Domestic tourists accounted for 737,000 arrivals in said period, down 2.4% on the year, and 3.6 million nights, down 3.7% year-on-year. (Hina)
