Revenues from the tourism trade in the first nine months of 2012 totalled EUR 6.27 billion, up 3.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2011, according to the Croatian National Bank.

"From the very beginning of 2012 we stated that our aim would be to have total revenues increased by 3-5% on the year. These figures show that we have accomplished our aim and that the trend of a rise in tourist turnover has been accompanied by the planned rise in tourism revenues," Tourism Minister Veljko Ostojic said.

He praised the cooperation of the public and private tourist sectors and said that preparations for 2012 had been conducted well.

The minister announced 2013 as a challenging and demanding year for his sector. (Hina)
