Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs said on Tuesday that the tourist season was proceeding well and that this year's revenues from tourism were likely to exceed seven billion euros.

Bajs told a news conference in Zagreb that the increase in revenues was higher than the increase in the number of tourists visiting Croatia and the number of their overnight stays.

He ascribed this to the improved quality of accommodation facilities.

The number of four-star hotels rose from 94 in 2007 to 120 this year, while the number of five-star hotels rose by 3 to 16.

The Croatian Hotel Owners' Association expects an increase of ten percent in this year's revenues. (Hina)
