Tourism minister satisfied with course of tourist season

Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs said on Thursday that tourism was the most competitive part of the national economy and that it was very important that the government dedicated its session, held earlier in the day in the northern Adriatic resort of Umag, to tourism.

Bajs said the current tourist season had exceeded expectations and that excellent results were expected in July as well. Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said at the government session that the 2011 action plan for tourism cost HRK 23 million and that promotional activities on foreign markets cost EUR 32 million. The president of the national association of employers in the hotel industry, Kristijan Sustar, said that according to available indicators, the number of arrivals was record high. (Hina)
