Telegraph newspaper publishes travel guide to Zagreb

The Telegraph, a British daily newspaper, has published a guide to Zagreb with essential information for visitors to the Croatian capital, including the best hotels, restaurants and attractions.

The four-page section gives instructions to guests for going from the Pleso airport to the centre of Zagreb, with prices of taxes, best hotels, restaurants, museums and galleries.
"Airlines flying to Zagreb from Britain include Croatia Airlines (www.croatiaairlines.com), British Airways (www.britishairways.com) and Wizzair (www.wizzair.com," the guide reads.

"Buses run from the airport to the main bus station every 30 minutes from 7am to 8pm, then after each Croatian Airlines flight. Allow 40 minutes for the HRK30/L3.50 journey. Tram No 6 (to Crnomerec) will get you from the bus station to the main square, Trg bana Jelacica. A taxi from the airport to the city centre costs about HRK 200."

"Zagreb Cards give you free public transport (though most sights are within walking distance of one another), discounts in some shops, clubs and restaurants, and 50 per cent off museum and gallery admissions. "Don’t be alarmed if street signs differ from the map. You’re probably in the right place but Croatian grammar allows for alternative spellings, so ulica Pavla Radica, for example, appears on maps as Radiceva," reads the article.

"Music lovers are spoilt for choice when looking for free concerts. The most atmospheric is the bandstand by Praska Street, a minute’s walk from Jelacica Square, each Saturday evening in the spring and summer."
