Rovinj awarded La Pomme d'Or prize

The northern Adriatic town of Rovinj on Saturday was awarded La Pomme d'Or --s a prize for excellence in the tourism industry awarded by FIJET, the European association of professional travel writers and journalists.

Rovinj Mayor Giovanni Sponza was presented with the award at a ceremony held in Rovinj's main square. FIJET was founded in Paris in 1954 and today it gathers national associations from 35 countries with over a thousand members, including Croatia. La Pomme d'Or prize has been awarded since 1970.
