Croatia has a firm niche in the global travel market, and is likely to see a rise in tourist trade next year, and those trends should not be affected by Croatia's care for migrants and its efforts in that regard have been welcomed, according to a statement given by UNWTO Secretary-General Taleb Rifai to Hina ahead of a ministerial summit held during the World Travel Market in London.

The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) secretary-general on Tuesday praised the Croatian authorities for a principled approach and care for migrants.

The Croatian authorities' determination to treat migrants humanely is appreciated by the entire world, Rifai said, adding that all express gratitude to Croatia for giving priority to principles over material interests when it comes to the migrant crisis.

During the ministerial summit in London, Rifai talked with Croatia's Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin.
