Poreč records its one millionth bed night this season

The northern Adriatic resort town of Poreč recorded its one-millionth bed night this season on Monday, 22 days earlier than last year, and a record number of visitors for that date, with 28,000 guests currently staying there according to the e-Visitor platform, the town's authorities said on Tuesday.

Between 1 January and 26 July this year, a total of 1,009,731 bed nights have been generated according to the Poreč Tourist Board. That is an increase of 80% compared to 2020 and 57% of the data for 2019, a press release said.

In that period 184,345 tourist arrivals were recorded, which is an increase of 95% year-on-year and a 57% of the number for 2019. 

The most represented tourists are from Germany, accounting for 26% of all bed nights in Poreč, followed by Austrians (17%) and Slovenians (11%).

Considering the type of accommodation, 53% are staying in hotels, 25% in household rentals, 12% in campsites, 6% in non-commercial holiday houses and apartments and 5% in other types of accommodation.
