Osijek-Baranja County establishes cooperation with China's Sichuan Province

​The Croatian eastern county of Osijek-Baranja and the Chinese southwestern province of Sichuan have signed a memorandum of cooperation in environmental protection, transport, agriculture, education, tourism and culture, the Office of County Prefect Ivan Anusic said in a press release.

The memorandum was signed at the Belt and Road Sichuan international cooperation and development forum where an Osijek-Baranja County delegation presented the county's economic and tourism potential as well as trade and investment opportunities during its four-day visit to China.

Sichuan Province has generated considerable growth in recent years, its GDP reaching US$605.3 billion in 2018. The province has established economic and trade ties with over 220 countries and regions, and 17 countries have opened their consular offices there. It is among the leading centres of agricultural production in China and is developing as a high-technology industrial base through investment in electronic and information technologies. (Hina)
