Opatija wins FIJET's Golden Apple tourism award

The northern Adriatic resort of Opatija on Wednesday received the Golden Apple 2013 award which the World Federation of Travel Journalists & Writers (FIJET) gives for contribution to the preservation, improvement and development of the historical and cultural heritage in the function of tourism.

The award was presented by FIJET president Tijani Haddad to Mayor Ivo Dujmic in Opatija. FIJET this year presented its two annual awards for best world destination for the first time to two destinations in the same country, Croatia's Opatija and Rovinj. (Hina)
