On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Tourism and Sport Minister Nikolina Brnjac on Thursday congratulated all disabled athletes on their achievements, saying they were a model and inspiration to all.

"Sports for persons with disabilities and deaf persons are an indivisible and constituent part of the sport system in Croatia and are equally treated and recognised as all other segments of the sport system. We will continue to take care of this important part of sport just as we have over the past four years, when we increased allocations for the Croatian Paralympic Committee and the Croatian Deaf Sports Federation from HRK 12.3 million in 2016 to 23.5 million in 2020," Brnjac said.

Citing measures under the national sport programme, Brnjac said that the ministry would continue to support sport as a means of improving the social inclusion, health and living standards of persons with disabilities. (Hina)
