The visiting Croatian Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin has held talks with Ken Hyatt of the International Trade Association (ITA) in Washington about opportunities for investments in Croatia's tourism sector, and the minister also met executives of the Hilton and InterContinental hotel chains, the Croatian ministry said in a press release on Wednesday.

Lorencin notified his interlocutors that Croatia was interested in attracting American investment in its tourism.

Under a strategy, investments into the tourism sector are estimated at some seven billion euros by 2020, with a half of this amount set aside for hotel capacities.

Lorencin also informed his hosts about a catalogue of planned investments in tourism facilities, with an emphasis put on Kupari, Brijuni, Imperial-Rab, Plat and Maestral.
