Leading hotel companies in Croatia are satisfied with bookings ahead of the Easter holiday and expect a high occupancy. Most of them expect to open their hotels in April with somewhat higher prices compared to last year due to investments in raising the quality of their accommodation. Croatia's largest hotel chain, the Porec-based Valamar Riviera, has underscored that they are satisfied with bookings for Easter and the entire shoulder season and that they expect good results.

The company intends to receive guests in nine of its hotels in Porec, another two on Rab island and one in Pula as well as in a hotel on Krk island and two in Dubrovnik. It said that all its hotels would be open for business by the end of April and that on 1 May they expected full occupancy with tourists from Scandinavia and France and that the number of tourists from these countries had been steadily increasing over the past few years.

Another hotel chain says that in consideration of the increased demand the largest tour operators have bought out a larger contingent of rooms compared to last year which has ensured that they will not have an early slump in sales and added that they have recorded a great demand by individual guests for the main summer season.

Hotels expect a good occupancy in April despite their prices being a little higher than last year, with guests expected to be of higher paying power who expect a high quality service.

"Generally, announcements for this year are very good and agencies and tour operators we work with are saying Croatia will be an absolute hit this year," one hotel company said.
