January – May: 111 Foreign Cruisers Visited Croatia

Official data show that from January till May, Croatia registered 111 visits of foreign cruise vessels, which is an 11% increase as compared to the same period in 2005.

Those vessels carried 107.3 thousand passengers which spent in Croatia a total of 144 days.

Compared to last year the number of passengers went up by 12.5% and the total number of day stays, realized by those passengers, by 1.4%.

Most of those cruises headed towards the ports of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

The best results were achieved by Dubrovnik, with registered visits of 100 foreign cruisers in the first five months of this year.

Dubrovnik is followed by the city of Korčula (19), Split (5), Pula (4), Rijeka (4), Zadar (4) and Ploče (4).

Most passengers arrived under the Italian flag (over 36 000), the flag of the Bahamas (25 900), Panama (16 600) and other.

When it comes to cruises, the best results were achieved in May (65) and April (35).
