The natural tourism, notably gourmet offer of Istria was presented in Vienna on Wednesday with a view to improving Croatian exports to Austria, which will be easier once Croatia joins the European Union on July 1.

The presentation was organised with the support of the Croatian Embassy to Austria. Ambassador Gordan Bakota said the time leading up to EU accession was an opportunity for all those active in the economy, tourism and culture in Croatia to present themselves on the Austrian market. Austria is an important tourism partner, as more than a million Austrians visited Croatia in 2012, generating more than 5.7 million nights, said Ranko Vlatkovic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board's Vienna office.
