The 30th edition of the International Boat Show and the 5th edition of the Hunting and Fishing Days began on Wednesday at the Zagreb Fair show grounds with around 360 exhibitors from about 30 countries presenting their products and services until 26 February.

More than 280 exhibitors from 27 countries are present at the International Boat Show on more than 15,000 square meters of exhibition space showcasing 250 vessels.

The Hunting and Fishing fair has brought together 84 exhibitors from eight countries.

Zagreb Fair Director Renata Suša underscored that the best small Croatian shipbuilders, who compete with the world's strongest boat manufacturers, are taking part in the ongoing Zagreb fair.

Croatia sixth destination in world for mega yachts

State Secretary in the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Josip Bilaver said that Croatia is the sixth destination in the world for mega yachts.

He confirmed that nautical tourism is one of the leading sectors in Croatian tourist trade, with data showing that 54,000 foreign yachts visited Croatia in 2022, which is 5.3 percent more than in 2021.

Furthermore, charter activity last year almost completely reached the 2019 level with 81,000 rentals registered last year, just one percent less than in the pre-pandemic 2019.

Croatia's charter fleet currently has 4,250 vessels, which is 325 vessels fewer than in 2019.

An estimated 20,000 visitors are expected to visit the fairs over the next five days. (Hina)
