The council of the Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) on Wednesday adopted an annual plan for 2024 defining the activities which should be taken to keep Croatia among the most desirable destinations also in the next year.

The annual plan for 2024 envisages the budget of €52.1 million both on the revenue and on the expenditure side, which is by 9% more than the annual budget for the activities in 2023, the HTZ reported.

According to data provided by the European Travel Commission (ETC), Croatia is among four or five countries that have managed to reach levels of tourism turnover from the pre-pandemic 2019 year.

In order to be more efficient in reaching the targets defined for 2024, we also plan the reorganisation of the HTZ and the upgrade of all business processes making them digitalised, the HTZ director-general Kristjan Staničić was quoted as saying.

Concerning promotional activities, in the first quarter of 2024, the HTZ will put an emphasis on the promotion of Croatia on the markets in Switzerland and Italy, and Croatia will be the partner-country at the relevant fairs in Zurich and Naples.

The annual plan for 2024 will be on the agenda of the HTZ assembly, which will take place next week.
