Today in Providence (USA), the rebrand of the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) was announced to be one of the ten winners in the 2006 ReBrand 100 Global Awards.

Representing 18 countries and 41 industries as diverse as pharmaceuticals, financial services, technology and tourism, the 2006 winners exemplify the best in re-branding strategy and design execution across the globe.

An international panel converged in Providence, Rhode Island, to jury the second annual competition.

The new re-branding was done by the designer Boris Ljubičić. Considering the fact that Croatia is a land of one thousand islands and sparkling sea as well as of wide corn fields and woods, the brand contains various colors (blue, yellow and green) signifying the visual identity of the Republic of Croatia. What makes this brand so unique is the fact that it can be translated to all languages. The author created a typography which writes the name of Croatia in form of two squares and the letter ‘A’ in blue color as the initials of the Adriatic Sea.

According to the jury it was the Croatian National Tourist Board’s rebrand that also played an important role in the boosting of the country’s tourism.

The ReBrand 100 Award is only one in the range of awards the HTZ received during its cooperation with Boris Ljubičić.
