Eight foreign police officers were formally presented at the Split-Dalmatia County Police Department on Monday as part of international police cooperation and the "Safe Tourist Season" project.

They will be staying in Makarska, Omis and Trogir until the end of August, helping their Croatian colleagues in communicating with their compatriots.

Pasko Ugrina of the Split-Dalmatia County Police told a press conference that they had been joined by police officers from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and were expecting to be joined soon by their colleagues from Italy and France.

He said that the police officers from the six countries would stay in Split-Dalmatia County throughout the summer season.

Ugrina noted that over the last ten years cooperation with foreign police officers had been "extremely positive".
