First motor camp opened by A3 west-east motorway

The first motor camp by the A3 motorway has been opened in the Bistricki rural tourism complex in Osekovo near Popovaca, about 60 kilometres east of Zagreb, the Croatian Rural Tourism Association says.

The construction of the campsite was financially supported by the local authorities, the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian Tourist Board, and was formally opened by the head of Sisak-Moslavina County, Ivo Zinic.

"This motor camp is a considerable contribution to tourism development not just in this county but in other counties of continental Croatia as well. We hope that with good promotion by local authorities and the national tourism board, it will be adequately filled," said Jasmina Rakic Horvat, the head of the Croatian Rural Tourism Association.

The opening ceremony was accompanied by an entertainment programme, and the first guests of the campsite were tourists from the Netherlands.
