The Motorwelt magazine, issued by the German ADAC auto club, ranks Dubrovnik among top five destinations for urban and cultural tourism and puts Istria on the list of the eight most desirable spring destinations, the Croatian Tourism Board reported on Wednesday.

In its February edition, Motorwelt's list of five cities where tourists can enjoy a mild climate and a good cultural programme includes Marseille (2013 European Culture Capital), Cadiz in southern Spain, Funchal on the Atlantic island of Madeira and Ascona in the Swiss Ticino Canton, apart from Dubrovnik.

The April edition of the magazine recommends eight destinations ideal for the spring break, with Istria being one of them.

An article on Istria points out its gastronomic delights and recommends visits to Pula's amphitheatre Arena, as well as to Hum, the tiniest city in the world, to cities of Motovun and Rovinj. Motorwelt has the highest distribution in Germany and is delivered to all ADAC members in over 13 million copies.

Since February this year, Motorwelt is available as a smartphone application. (Hina)
