The international tourism fair "CroTOUR '09" will be held at the Zagreb Trade Fair Centre on April 1-5, as it was announced at a news conference organized last week.

The State Secretary for Tourism, Ivo Mujo, said the event was expected to draw more than 160 exhibitors, which was last year's attendance.

Along with hotel companies and tourist agencies, a number of local tourism offices will participate, as well as the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ), the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) and the Ministry of Tourism.

Entrance will be free, which is expected to attract a large number of visitors.

Mujo also mentioned panel discussions which would be held during the fair in order to draw the public attention to the current situation of the domestic tourism sector, tourist services and bookings in 2009, and ways to overcome the ongoing crisis in the tourism sector.

Representatives of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) are also expected to attend.
