The Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) and seven more co-exhibitors are promoting Croatia's tourism trade at the ATM - Arabian Travel Market show, which is taking place in Dubai from 28 April to 1 May. During 2018, the number of guests from the United Arab Emirates to Croatia increased by 28% to 11,000 and their overnight stays rose by 10% to 25,000 year on year. The top destinations for tourists from the UAE were Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split.

"Promoting Croatia's tourism sector on this market and further development of the cooperation with the UAE have multiple effects on the Croatian tourism and economy," HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said.

He noted that Fly Emirates operates direct flights connecting Zagreb and Dubai.

The Fly Dubai company is due to operate direct flights between Dubai and Dubrovnik from 2 June to 13 October twice a week.

Arabian Travel Market in Dubai is an international event focusing on travel and tourism agencies worldwide. An estimated 40,000 tourist workers and officials are taking part in the show. (Hina)
