Croatian tourism minister on visit to Russia

Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs, who is on a visit to Moscow on 13-16 June, held talks with some 15 leading Russian tour operators on Tuesday, the Croatian ministry reported on Wednesday. After the talks Minister Bajs expressed expectations of the continuation of a rise in the number of Russians spending holidays in Croatia. The minister said that Russia had become the fastest growing market for the Croatian tourist trade in term of turnover.

After the talks Minister Bajs expressed expectations of the continuation of a rise in the number of Russians spending holidays in Croatia.

The minister said that Russia had become the fastest growing market for the Croatian tourist trade in term of turnover.

Last year, 165,000 Russian tourists visited Croatia, which was a 35-percent rise from 2009, and their overnight stays increased by 31 percent to 1.4 million. (Hina)
