Cooperation between Croatia and Slovenia in tourism is very good, however, there is room for additional advancement, Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin and Slovenia's Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Pocivalsek said in Maribor on Thursday commenting on the possibility of joint promotional projects targeting distant markets.

"Croatia and Slovenia have a very good level of cooperation in tourism, particularly in joint presentations on distant markets, which have shown good results," Minister Lorencin said.

Special emphasis at the talks was placed on a joint project called "Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia", targeting tourists from Japan, China, India and South America.

Pocivalsek pointed out that there was still room to improve cooperation, particularly with regard to investment in tourism by both countries.

We have realised many interesting projects as part of cross-border cooperation and will continue to do so, Pocivalsek said.

Both ministers recalled that Slovenians were amongst the most frequent guests along Croatia's coast and Croatian tourists frequented Slovenia particularly in the winter months.

Slovenians make up 11 percent of Croatia's tourist traffic and Croatian tourists make up 5% of visitors in Slovenia, the Tourism Ministry has reported.
