The national tourism boards of Croatia and Brazil, HTZ and Embratur, meeting at the ITB travel show in Berlin on Thursday, discussed possibilities of cooperation and joint promotional activities ahead of the world football championships in Brazil this year.

The fact that the World Cup will kick off with a match between Brazil and Croatia will certainly increase the interest in Croatia among Brazilians, Embratur officials said as quoted by Croatian Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin. They added that they believed that the number of Brazilian tourists visiting Croatia would continue to increase.

HTZ Director Meri Matesic said that HTZ was considering launching advertising campaigns on global television channels such as CNN, BBC and Eurosport during the World Cup, and that 15 Brazilian journalists were coming to Croatia in May, which she said would be an opportunity to promote Croatia in Brazil.
