Croatia sees rise in tourist arrivals and fall in overnight stays in Janaury

Croatia welcomed 231,000 travelers in January 2024, marking a 1% increase compared to the previous year. However, the number of overnight stays decreased by 1.2% to 594,000 compared to January 2023, as reported by the national statistical office on Wednesday.

A majority of overnight stays was made by foreigners (58%).

Slovenian tourists top the ranking, registering 47,000 overnight stays (14% of all foreigners' nights) in January. They were followed by guests from Germany, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Zagreb emerged as the most sought-after destination in January 2024, recording 133,000 overnight stays.
