​Croatia's tourism presented at Arabian Travel Market in Dubai

The Croatian National Tourism Board (HTZ) will present Croatia's tourism services at the Arabian Travel Market which, this year is celebrating 25 years as the leading global event for the Middle East travel industry. The Arabian Travel Market is the market leading, international travel and tourism event unlocking business potential within the Middle East for inbound and outbound tourism professionals. This year's event is being held on April 22-25 in Dubai and it is expected to bring together approximately 40,000 representatives of the tourism sector from around the world.

It is estimated that approximately US$2.5 billion worth of contracts could be signed during the fair in Dubai.

The fair was also visited by Croatian Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli and HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic.

Cappelli held talks with Emirati Minister of State and Managing Director for the Dubai World Expo 2020 Reem Ebrahim Al-Hashimi.

Cappelli and Stanicic also held talks with the director general of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing  Helal Al Marri, who praised Croatia's approach to tourism development, saying that they used Croatia's example in drawing up a strategy for conquering the tourism markets of South Korea and Japan.

According to the HTZ, more than 8,000 tourists from the United Arab Emirates visited Croatia last year, generating 23,000 overnights which is 78% and 72% respectively more than in 2016.
