Croatia ranks third on a list of the 40 most favorable summer destinations among German tourists, just after Turkey and Germany, according to the German automobile club ADAC.

ADAC has conducted a survey of extra costs in 40 swimming destinations in Germany, France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Portugal, Spain and Turkey, comparing prices of such typical products as sun cream, mineral water, beer, cappuccino, ice-cream, chips and deck chairs.

France was assessed as the most expensive, followed by Italy and Portugal. Greece and Spain were rated as moderately expensive, while Turkey, Germany and Croatia were evaluated as favorable.

The survey covered five destinations in Croatia: Mali Lošinj, Umag, Rovinj, Medulin and Poreč, all situated in the Northern Adriatic. Poreč was described as the most expensive and Mali Lošinj as the most favorable.

The survey illustrated huge differences in extra costs between expensive and favorable countries by citing prices of cappuccino.

While in Croatia a cup of cappuccino costs 89 euro cents on average, in France it costs as much as 3.15 euros.
