Croatia is the main partner of the 9th European Health Tourism Industry Summit (EHTI), taking place in Brussels on November 20-21, and speakers at the opening ceremony on Wednesday stressed that health tourism was growing and creating new development opportunities.

The EHTI, a leading European conference on health tourism, brings together about 100 national and international experts, top lecturers and panelists, said the Croatian Tourism Board (HTZ), through which Croatia participates in the event, noting that the opening ceremony was held in the European Parliament.

"We are glad to participate this year again in the EHTI Summit, which was held in Croatia on two occasions, when more than 300 participants from all over the world gathered for the event. Our presence and relevance in health tourism is evidenced by our status as the partner-country of this year's summit," HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic said at the event.

The summit is also attended by representatives of Croatia Airlines, which has the status of silver&networking partner because it contributes with its flights to positive tourism trends in Croatia, including in health tourism.

Croatia's partnership at the event is also important because of Belgian tourists, whose share in the Croatian tourism industry has been growing.
