Croatia needs to develop all year round tourism

Croatia's tourism can and must be developed to work all year round, as this is important for its sustainability as well as for the sustainability of the overall economy, but for now there are only several destinations and this will take time, more cooperation between the public and the private sector and a stronger development of tourism infrastructure and selective forms of tourism.

This was a message from the second conference on the development of year-long tourism entitled "Can Croatia's tourism last 365 days a year?"

The event was organised by Ivana Kolar who said that it was a shame that a majority of hotels, camp sites and other accommodation in Croatia were empty most of the year, adding that Croatia should develop more services in the health, culture, business, cuisine, rural, sport and other selective forms of tourism.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Croatian Employers' Association.  (Hina)
