Croatia expects twofold rise in number of Ukrainian tourists
Croatia can expect twice as many Ukrainian tourists this season in comparison to last year, and this means that 50,000-60,000 Ukrainians are likely to visit Croatia after it lifted visas for holiday-makers from that eastern European country, stated the Ukrainian Ambassador Markian Lubkivskiy after meeting today with the Croatian Tourism Minister Damir Bajs.
The meeting was held at the Tourism Ministry after the Croatian government recently decided to cancel visa requirements for Ukrainians in the period between 1 May and 31 October this year. The decision is part of an action plan specially designed to support Croatian tourism during the ongoing global economic crisis.

He also expects the measure to help increase trade between the two countries, which totaled USD 220 million in 2008.
