Croatia's tourism ministry and National Tourist Board whose acronym in Croatian is HTZ assess that the number of guests visiting the country for this Easter weekend will be approximately the same as during Easter holidays in 2017 when 120,000 visitors were registered. "We believe that this Easter tourist turnover will be  at least approximately the same as last Easter's turnover, however, one should have in mind that Easter was two weeks later then," Minister Gari Cappelli has said.

Furthermore, weather forecast can also impact the final results, except for four- and five-star hotels that already have full booking for the forthcoming Easter holidays, the minister says.

The HTZ director Kristjan Stanicic recalls that during last Easter holidays, there were 120,000 visitors who made over 400,000 overnight stays.

"Easter is informally regarded as the start of the tourist season  in Croatia, and in that sense we expect the Eastern weekend to have a positive impact on tourist trends," Stanicic says.

The statistics about travel and tourism industry year-to-date show also 10% increase in both arrivals and overnight stays.
