​Croatia can boast biggest nautical charter fleet - daily

Croatia is a great power in the nautical charter services and it makes up 40% of the global nautical charter fleet, the Vecernji List daily wrote on Tuesday in the article headlined "Croatia has the biggest nautical charter fleet in world, 4,378 vessels for rent".

A half million guests use charter services of this kind annually in the country, the newspaper says.
 
The data provided by the Maritime Affairs and Transport Ministry show that a total of 2,762 companies are registered for business of renting vessels, and 930 of them are active.
 
The Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) has reported that 1,956 sailing boats are offered for rent, plus 2,166 sailing yachts and 256 motor yachts.
 
Guests who use nautical charter services make over 3 million overnight stays in Croatia. The HGK chamber reports that findings of a 2017 survey,  called the Survey of Tourists and Visitors’ Attitudes and Expenditures (Tomas), show that the average spending of a guest in this segment of tourism is €183 per day as against the average spending of a hotel guest reaching €75.
