This year's 18th Croatia Boat Show will be held in the central Dalmatian city of Split, April 13 - 17 and will see twice as many boats as were exhibited last year with as many as 65 vessels in the sea, the fair's organisers said on Friday.

The fair will be larger than last year due to a recovery of the nautical sector, representatives of the Profectus company, that organises the fair, told a press conference.

Profectus CEO Vicenco Blagaic said that after seven years of decline due to the crisis and a poor situation on the nautical market, that market was finally starting to rise. Over the past few months we noticed trends on the market whereby China, Turkey and Russia are still experiencing a decline, however, the trend in Europe is one of growth, Blagaic said.

According to Blagaic additional pontoons will expand the fair's space adding that over the past week, ten new exhibitors had applied to attend the show.

The Croatia Boat Show attracts ship builders, boat equipment manufacturers as well as nautical equipment producers. It also attracts agencies and marinas and the like. Apart from yachts the fair will exhibit other vessels including rubber dingies, cars, electric cars and bikes and various other sports and recreational equipment.

The organisers announced that several well-known global companies would be exhibiting at the fair, such as the Azimut Benetti which will exhibit a 30 metre yacht.
