The Croatian Tourism Ministry will grant HRK 1.13 million for 21 projects in Istria designed to enhance tourist attractions in that largest Croatian peninsula.

Contracts based on the ministry's co-financing of the projects were signed by Tourism Minister Damir Bajs in the town of Poreč on Tuesday.

The projects include, for example, the reconstruction of access roads to the Pazin Cave, maintenance of traditional houses in Istria, the manufacturing of local souvenirs and building of walking lanes.

Minister Bajs said the results of this year’s season might be better than expected based on the fact that during the last four weekends statistics registered a very high number of tourist arrivals and that the forecast for the upcoming tourist post-season is also very satisfactory. (Hina)
