Central Bureau of Statistics releases figures on tourist season

In the first seven months of 2007 as well as in July alone Croatia recorded an increase in the number of tourists and overnight stays in relation to the same period in 2006.

This July the number of tourists went up by 3.3 percent in relation to the same month last year, while the number of overnight stays last month rose by 6.6 percent.

In the first seven months, the number of tourists went up 8.4 percent in relation to the same period the year before, while the number of overnight stays rose by 6.7 percent, according to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

According to these figures, a total of 2,645,089 tourists visited Croatia last month and recorded 16,523,581 overnight stays.

Comparing to last year's July, the number of tourists this July went up by 3.3 percent and the number of overnight stays rose by 6.6 percent.

Over 2.36 million tourists were foreigners (2.6 percent more than in July 2006).

The number of tourists from Croatia increased by 9.3 percent while the number of overnight stays that they recorded went up by 17.1 percent. This July a total of 281,160 tourists were from Croatia who recorded 1.58 million overnight stays.
